GED TESTING

BMCC is a certified GED testing site and offers computer-based tests via Pearson VUE at our Hermiston and Pendleton locations by appointment only. Contact GED.com to schedule and pay for your GED test.

Registration Information

Register at GED.com

GED students must register in MyGED located on the GED.com website at least 24 hours in advance before being eligible to take a GED test. To register you must have a valid e-mail address. All fees must be paid prior to testing.

 

Underage Registration

Students between the ages 16 and 17: In order to test, students must have permission from a parent or guardian. Please visit the Higher Education Coordinating Commission website for forms and information. 

In addition to the required form, the student must create an account in the MyGED site on the GED.com website.

GED Preparation

College Preparation

GED preparation classes prepare students for GED certification testing. A GED certificate equates to a high school diploma. At BMCC, GED preparation can include earning college credit.

The GED test covers 4 subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts.

These locations are closed all holidays and campus closure days. Please refer to the BMCC Calendar for details.

Other Testing

Exams are by appointment only. Please contact Hermiston or Pendleton locations for scheduling options. Exams are mailed directly to the location where you want to take your exam.

Appointments must be made through the Metro Institute website, or by calling 877-533-2900.

Standard fee $25 per test. Must be paid at the time of testing.

University partnership fee is $50 per term. Partner colleges include: Eastern Oregon Univ, Oregon Health & Sciences Univ, Oregon State Univ, Linn-Benton CC, Wenatchee Valley College, Central Oregon CC.

Faculty Resources

BMCC’s Testing Centers are here to support the local community by providing an opportunity for applicants and students to take exams in a convenient and securely proctored environment. We will administer in-person academic exams on a limited basis and by appointment only. Students can schedule directly with the Testing Center at their local campus. 

Instructors must pre-arrange with the Pendleton Testing Center to have their exam information available to students as needed. 
Please send exam information to the Testing Center (testingcenter@bluecc.edu) using the forms below within the first two weeks of each term. Canvas is used to distribute all exam information to approved proctors either at BMCC testing centers or approved sites.

  • Students must make an appointment to test. Drop in’s may be accommodated as space allows.
  • Appointments should be made the day prior to testing.
  • Recommended maximum test time is 2 hours.
  • Course should include a ProctorU option.
  • Should be done under the supervision of the instructor, via Zoom or in-person.
  • May be done in Testing Center under special circumstances or approved accommodation.
  • Requires completion of the Exam Submission and Request for Alternative Testing.

If you are using ProctorU, your students need the following information:

Students are responsible for scheduling exams 72 hours in advance to use ProctorU for testing.

  • Log into your Canvas course and click on ProctorU tab to create an account or schedule a test
  • Scheduling a ProctorU exam needs to be done at least 72 hours prior to the test time.  Appointments made within 72 hours of an exam must be approved by the instructor or Distance Education office.  There will be a cost of $8.00 FOR LATE REQUESTS that students would pay ProctorU.

Students will need the following to utilize ProctorU services:

  • Webcam with 640×480 video pixel resolution and microphone on a working computer
  • High-Speed Internet
  • A well-lit room with no other people in the room
  • Two forms of photo identification

ProctorU Requirements:

Students must fill out a Proctor Request Form (below) within the first two weeks of a term.  (download) in Oregon to share with students.
